Had my surgery ten days ago.  Felt great and still don't feel too bad except that I still have some pain along the outside of my knees...not knee cap.  this pain in this region has been the most debilititating as I can't get up and down sometimes without holding on to something.  Like those muscles have no strength.  Also feel tired (but cant sleep) and I have tingling in my hands and feet.  I take tums and it seems to help.  My d level was really low before surgery (3) and yesterday I took the prescribed once a week for a month vitamin D3 50,000 IU my endo prescribed.  As they day went on I got so very tired and felt like I was getting back all of my prior to surgery symptoms.  Anyone else experience this?  I have a lot of questions about vitamin d.  I don't think I will take this medication again.  I can't wait to have all my levels checked next week.

As for my incision.  I still cannot believe how little it hurt at all over this time.  A paper cut hurts more than it did.  I do get some numbness in that area but nothing I can't handle.  It is around two inches but I did not care as long as it took care of the problem.

I know that it probably took me 10+years to get to this point and it is going to take time to get my life back...anyone want to tell me how long it took them from surgery to a day when they felt "normal"!  If there is such a thing!   Cool

Susan - I was just skinning through the forum and saw that no-one had replied to this post of yours. That's not normal on here - must be due to the fact that we had a p[ublic holiday recently and people haven't got themselves back together from it yet!

I can't be much help myself as I've not been diagnosed yet, but there are others on the forum who could reply to your question.

Might I suggest you copy your post and re-post it back in the same section as a new item?

That way people would see it at the top of the list again.

Let us know what your levels were when you got them re-checked and I'm sure someone will reply to your queries on Vit D levels after surgery.

Hi Susan I missed it as well.
I agree about the incision it never hurt at all no pain killers needed. I only felt well for about 3 wks and then it all started again which is why I'm being re investigated.

Hi Susan

I forgot to say that you will get many of your questions about Vitamin d answered if you have a look at the Vitamin D pages of Dr Norman's site:

www.parathyroid.com

Have you had your blood tests done this week yet, by the way?
Let us know what the results are and we'll try to help.
