thoughts please

Post by Hadleigh on Wed Apr 02, 2014 5:44 pm

First topic message reminder :

Hi everyone

ThyroidUK would like to add us to their resources list of useful websites  cheers

Now, I have to do a post on their forum announcing that our forum is up and running so my question is do I aim it at Hyperpth people only or include Hypopth people as well ? would any of us be able to and also feel comfortable about advising on Hypopth and other calcium issues ? I know there have been quite a few people recently on the TUK forum asking about calcium and parathyroid disease so it will be useful to have a link over there.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Thank you all for your feedback.

I am building-up to making the changes that have been discussed, once I have learned a bit more on how to do a few things.

More info to follow.

Earlier today, the Forum website address was changed to www.hyperparathyroid.forumotion.co.uk

In case anyone is wondering, the nice people at forumotion provide free forum hosting.

This evening, our 'proper' domain name became active www.hyperparathyroid.org.uk

We now have a professional-looking internet address and these changes will make it easier for our Forum to be found on search websites (it usually take a while for this to happen).

Both of the above addresses can be used, but it will be appreciated if you can use www.hyperparathyroid.org.uk when promoting the Forum.

Thank you all very much for offering to contribute to the new domain name but really the cost is so little it isn't worth the effort for everyone to sort out payments,

I also think once money becomes involved things can get complicated  scratch
To see the forum up and running so well with everyone happily chatting away is sufficient for both of us  cheers

Thank you friends

Dear Nelly and Edwin,
Just wanted to say thank you for your fantastic generousity, it is sincerely appreciated. I can only guess at how much time you have both put in already, but just wanted to say thanks. If in the future you need a donation towards running costs, please don't hesitate to shout out, I would willingly donate.

Thank you Sue in Lincs

Nelly and I are enjoying this, especially because this is such a friendly and positive community.

We are both members of a Thyroid forum where there are some really knowledgeable people, but it is not as friendly as it is here and the feeling of community is missing. More annoyingly, the moderators do not seem to be doing a very good job of moderating the content and the forum is being spoiled by negativity and arrogance.

Nelly & Edwin
A really HUGE thank you to you both for setting up this amazing forum and the fact that we have all felt so at home with this that there is such a great community feel to it.
