I think I'm falling apart Empty I think I'm falling apart

Post by Amanda Lynne Fri Aug 08, 2014 6:58 am

Hi All
The awful reflux has gradually subsided and moved downwards, so I now have IBS mainly around my right side and is giving me period type pain Crying or Very sad
Unfortunately now my whole back has gone into spasm I can hardly move this morning. From lower back twinges right up to sore shoulder and neck. I felt it coming on last night and it's got worse.
For the last week I've also been getting ridiculously dehydrated especially at night and am also getting up and peeing 2-3 times a night.
All I can think is that my calcium may be rising again and my muscles are responding going into cramping mode inside & out Neutral
Feeling a bit sorry for myself, I had things I needed to do today and I'm annoyed I will have to put them on hold.
I'm trying hard to find a funny side to this but it's not coming !!!!
Normal service will resume as soon as possible.
Love Amanda xxxx

Oh Amanda I'm so sorry you're struggling still, and that you're juggling symptoms if you know what I mean. It's a flippin' nightmare, this wretched disease just swirls us around in ever decreasing circles, always having to cope with something or other, never a respite from symptoms. Just as one thing starts to ease up something else kicks in, it's so bl**dy unfair!!!!! Bizarrely I woke up in the night with the first signs of another onset of IBS and thought oh no here we go again, and got up to take an antispasmodic and codeine to try and nip it in the bud, and fingers crossed it's not as bad as I expected this morning.

Don't stress about what you needed to get done today Amanda, it'll still be there waiting for you, just concentrate on making yourself as comfortable and pain free as possible, rest up for the day and look after yourself. When do you have your next Ca and PTH bloods? I've managed to persuade the idiot GP to do mine monthly whilst waiting on the genetic stuff to come back so I have plenty of results for FP.

Love and hugs

Oh Amanda  Sad  You need a good doctor. I'm so sorry they're in such short supply. I wish I could offer you some valuable advice but I can give you  gentle  cyber hugs  Smile

My back always twinges upwards with IBS and stomach like period pain, (or even contractions). Do you have anything to take when you get IBS?

This disease really wrecks our systems doesn't it. There's always something and when you think one symptom is subsiding, another one pops up. It's all taking a toll on our minds and bodies. I'm glad there are all these lovely people on the forum who understand.

I hope you feel better soon. I know that's a silly thing to say really but positive thinking can help. I shall send the positive vibes up your way along with the hugs.

Lots of love

Amanda, I'm sorry you're suffering so much, it's awful when you're having to put your life on hold because of this rotten illness. Here's hoping you start to feel better soon and I'll join Brigitte in sending positive vibes xx

Thanks Jasmine & Brigitte & Meggy
I've taken mebeverine for IBS it helps a bit and I do usually get back twinges but this is full blown can't even get my knickers on without sitting down, can't bend over to pick up shampoo in the shower back pain !! (Sorry if that vision is a bit scary first thing in the morning) affraid
I had bloods done 2 weeks ago ( that was traumatic enough I had a poor soul with Tourette's sit next to me who kept shouting arse, luckily my number was called 5 mins after he sat down) phew.
I'm trying to channel positive thoughts  I love you
I will be emailing Endo today to find out pit results and anything else she has back, can't do much else.
My GPs are useless so I'd rather not make an appointment only to be told to take ibuprofen !!!!! Which anyone knows is a major no no with reflux (anyone except my GP who writes the prescription for my PPI's)
I shall now attempt to put dry my hair, put my slap on and face the world with my " I'm fine" mask on.
Thanks for all the love ladies, it's sent back to you too.

I've just tried to do some cat hump excercise to ease it ( if you don't know what this is imagine a cat arching it's back, apparently it helps!!!) but Tazz thinks it's a game and is now sitting on my back doing puddy paws aaagggghhh.

Amanda have you tried the stick on heat pads ? can't remember which ones I use but they really do help with back pain, might be Curaheat but you get different varieties depending on what and where the pain is. Also Ibuprofen gel is ok to use and can help but can't use that and the heat together.

Wishing you better very soon

It will go within a few days, it's just on top of everything else being immobile is Cr***y.
Plus all my other joints, shoulders, knees, wrists, elbows, ankles are doing a weird crackly thing, like popping everytime I use them.

....... and she's back! There it was, the laugh out loud moment for today - not funny about the poor person with Tourette's obviously, but soooooo funny the way you described the way he kept saying arse.....

Chins up Amanda, and knickers too if you can manage it ... Ooer that sounded slightly offensive, I meant if your back will allow you to bend to get them on, not ..... oh heck, when in hole stop digging Jasmine ....!

I felt very sorry for him, but I was desperate not to make eye contact as I wasn't sure how he'd react.
I've always attracted the unusual type if travelling on trains, you know that moment when someone gets on and everyone thinks, I hope they don't sit next to me !!! ie their either drunk, have a hygiene problem or vvv loud, well I'm always the one they sit next to. Shocked
I'm wondering if it's the weight of trying to keep all these chins up that's put my back out !!! I shall have to invest in a chin sling to keep them permanently in place.
I did have to laugh yesterday I don't know if any of you are familiar with the " things people have heard whilst shopping in Waitrose" comments they are all very funny, well my local supermarket is a small Waitrose so I tend to use that, whilst I was in there on Wednesday a young woman walked past me with three young girls under 10 and said "oh Amelia do stop playing with the humous  and decide which smoked salmon you want for your lunch !!"
It did make me laugh, in fact I was still chuckling when I locked my car keys in the boot and realised I didn't have a boot release inside the car Shocked  Mad  Embarassed
Luckily my Son Luke had got a days holiday and came to the rescue with a spare key. First time I've ever done that in all my years of driving, brain fog.

I'd say take a bow because your humour has kicked in, but probably not a good idea with your back problem. You might fall over and everyone will see whether you pulled your knickers up properly... or not!

I'm always worried I'll lock the keys of the car somewhere and since we only have one set, I'd be hearing about it from Mr 0 until the world ends.

My daughters both work in Waitrose and have lots of funny stories about what customers say. I'd tell you some but I can't remember any! I put a request into my brain and after some time, it just comes up with Error 404: Page Not Found. I'm starting to annoy myself!

I hope the heat pads work. We have these physio hot or cold pads. I keep a couple in the freezer and a couple in the medicine cabinet ready to put in the microwave to make a quick heat pad.

Have more hugs and lots of love

Brigitte I loved the vision of falling over and exposing myself trying to take a bow affraid not a pretty sight, you will be pleased to hear that my undergarments are arranged correctly. Very Happy
My Son worked for John Lewis/Waitrose whilst doing his A levels oh how I miss that 25% discount !!!!! He now works in Finance and I get Nothing !!!!!! Evil or Very Mad
I can imagine your Daughters have loads of stories about working there. Luke said one old couple used to come in on a Thursday and the man brought a camping chair with him and sat at the end of every aisle in it reading his paper. Last week when I was in there an old man with very baggy trousers was filling his pockets up with fruit and veg, he did get caught, mainly because he was having trouble walking and had a banana hanging out of his pocket. Hahaha.

Have you got a script for your sit down routine? You don't need one, ad lib will be fine! Can't wait to see you on the telly - perhaps start on YouTube and build up a loyal following first.

I'm so pleased you've got your knickers pulled up properly; make sure you keep them that way  Shocked

Yes, Waitrose discount can be handy: it's not 25% though, I think it's 15%. Sometimes it's not really worth it and you can get cheaper at the Co-op!

It's good to see your sense of humour back on form. Hope those heat pads are working and you haven't been on the wine because it's a bit early yet.

Cheers, love and lots of hugs

Post by Little Audrey Sat Aug 09, 2014 4:38 pm

Oh, my goodness, Amanda, with all of my stupid ear issues yesterday and all of my running around trying to get help, I was not on here much at all, and I seem to have missed this thread! I am SO very sorry about your back!! I have had quite a bit of back pain over the past 4 years since all of this crap started, and I can say that back pain is some of the worst pain! If you have a sore arm, you just don't use that arm. It's different with a leg or the back. There's not much you can do without using your legs or your back! I do feel so badly for you.

I hope the heat helps. I do hope it all resolves quickly for you. You poor thing.

And even with severe back pain, your humor still shines through! I am not so humorous when I am in pain! What would we do without you?  I love you

Hang in there!!

Audrey

Thanks Audrey it's eased off slightly, probably because I've spent the last 24hrs putting heat pack, ibuprofen gel, ice pack, tens machine, warm bath etc. I can walk and sit down now without being in agony, can't do much else but it's better than before. I've also got raging IBS which doesn't help.
I think the poor old Bod is giving up !!!! Got raging thirst and peeing loads, that wasn't easy yesterday when I was having to have assistance to sit down  affraid  Embarassed
Mr Amanda was not amused  Laughing
I think the only thing worse than back ache for me is the headaches I get, I can't even think straight then.
I'm glad to see you are feeling a bit better and when the pain relief kicks in you can do normal things. Take it easy and I hope it clears up really soon so you can sort out your other health issues.
It's so hard when something else comes along to make you feel even worse on top of all your other problems.
Love Amanda xxxx
