Hi All,

Happy New Year!

I've just picked up my latest lab results. Not been tested since August 2014 Rolling Eyes as GP wouldn't allow it. Not sure if anyone can see my lab results to date from previous posts but thoughts are welcome on my latest:

PTH: 4.5 (Range 1.1-6.9 pmol/L)
Calcium: 2.40 (Range 2.2-2.6 mmol/L)
Corrected Calcium: 2.34 (Range 2.2-2.6 mmol/L)
Phosphate: 1.07 (Range 0.8-1.50 mmol/L)
Phosphatase: 45 (Range 35.0-105.0 iu/L)
Protein: 74 (Range 60-80 g/L)
Globulin: 27 (Range 20-37 g/L)

No result for Vitamin D - although I'm sure it was on the blood form.

Thank you

Lucie83

Hi Lucie

Those results look absolutely fine, everything well in range.

If vitd was done it may not be back yet as for some reason some labs take longer with vitd tests.

Have you had thyroid tested lately ?

Yes, looking good, Lucie.
Your serum calcium and PTH are about the same as mine 10 days post-surgery.

Where are you in your PTH odyssey at the moment?

Hi All

TigerLily - I'm nowhere in the PTH Odessey at the moment. My previous results I emailed FP about and be said regular monitoring but my GP wasn't keen.

Nelly - I had my Thyroid tested in August and because my Mum has Hyperthyroidism, I was told I should be tested every 6 months, off the top of my head I can't remember my last results.

Thanks

Hi Lucie

Perhaps you could get your GP to agree at least to testing Ca/PTH/thyroid together when the time for thyroid testing comes round again.

I managed to get my GP to test monthly for fluctuations in Ca and PTH. I would just keep requesting this and eventually they will agree just to make you go away for a while.

I think regular monitoring is the key, as per FP, but I know how it feels when things don't seem to be moving forward. Keep us posted on developments and how you are feeling.

Sounds GREAT, Lucie!! That is wonderful news! I am so happy for you! I was thinking lately that I should probably get my levels checked. It's been several months since they were checked. I'd just feel better knowing. They were fine the last time they were checked, but, as we all know, things can change with this stupid disease. I am now very close to 14 months post-op now, so I guess I feel a bit more comfortable waiting several months to get them tested, but for the first 8 or 10 months, I was VERY anxious to know! I just needed to be sure.

Again, GREAT news!!

Audrey
