Hi Ladies and Gents,
i hope you remember me, i have haven't been on here for a while (January) i have been busy recovering and being a carer for my elderly mother.
Just to  update you all my post op results are as follows.
Surgery performed by Mr Fausto Palazzo at Hammersmith Hospital on 15/12/2015 the offending  parathyroid gland was at the thoracic inlet and paraoesophageal ( Etopic parathyroid) but was removed by cervicotomy alone. ( Lower neck incision) other parathyroid visualised and normal.

Histology confirmed a 860mg Parathyroid adenoma, voice entirely normal.
After having high corrected calcium of 3.21 and PTH of 17.4pmol/L,  pre op blood results returned to normal limits post op.
last blood results corrected calcium normal 2.5mmol/L with a normal PTH of 4pmol/l.

I am extremely grateful to everyone who answered my post during my time on this forum would have been lost without all your guidance and advice.
I am well and my health is greatly improved, a few aches and pains, sleep pattern still difficult, but i went, straight into the menopause a few weeks after surgery,( Dam hormones!) but a low dose of HRT sorted that out.

I wish you all the best and will log on to the forum every now and then, if any one needs advice feel free to private message me.

Take care

Diana

Hi Diana

So happy to hear you have improved so much after your op, hopefully any remaining niggles will disappear in time. Always good to hear positive results, gives everyone hope.

The forum is very quiet these days and sadly any new members are being pointed to the old forum via google, not ideal as that forum appears more or less inactive again. We will try to keep this one ticking along and will be happy to hear from you anytime you feel like popping in Smile

Take care and we wish you well.
