Oh she is so cute, oh dear a leather sofa ours has been trashed by x 3.
Is she as quiet and ladylike as she looks ? or is she a whirlwind with claws !!
we lost Milo our 15 year old cat last week but with 2 others plus 3 dogs and a whole load of other furries and feathers I am resisting the pressure to get a new kitty
Enjoy her

Re: Our new kitten, Sally
Rest in Peace, Milo, you will be chasing mice over the rainbow,
Our oldest is 17, we lost her brother earlier this year but Ginny still enjoys life. Lucy is 6 and has actually been pretty good with our new kitten. We weren't planning on having another, but when you find a little one in your hedge there was no other option as far as I could see but to keep her. She is a real sweetie, has a lovely nature and loves to snuggle at your side. We have an open fireplace and the coal scuttle needs a daily investigate, so I keep finding black paw marks on the sofa, thankfully it comes off! She has a squeak rather than a meow! Final lot of jabs were last week and she can now explore outdoors a little, she has grown so much in the last few weeks and does make me laugh, riding the mop in the kitchen is a favourite!
You have a house full and plenty to keep you busy, but there is no denying it, kittens are live wires!
Sue xx

Re: Our new kitten, Sally
We are looking after eldest d's 2 cats until Tuesday, stressful or what !! It was fine when they were kittens but they are now intent on escaping the room they are confined to
They are indoor cats so if they got out and into the fields which surround us we would never get them back
Roll on Tues when we take them home

Re: Our new kitten, Sally
Beautiful, little kitty, Sue!! I'm sure she will bring you plenty of joy! As cute as she is, I'm with Nellie here. I LOVE kitties, but I have no urge to get any more. I had 6 kitties in my home for many years. Over the years, I've lost 4 of them. I only have 2 left. The ones who are left are 15-1/2 and 15 years old. The older one is dealing with kidney failure. He is very thin and meows NONSTOP, which is VERY, VERY annoying, but he still comes running to eat and plays with his toys, so I don't think it's quite his time yet. I will NOT let my kitties suffer, so when it looks like he is, I will have to make that very tough decision.
We had several VERY rough years when we had all 6 cats here in the house. I won't go into detail here, but I can say it was hell!! When your cats don't all get along, and they all feel the need to mark their territory at least 12 times a day inside of your house, it makes for a very, very rough time for everybody!!! There were many other terrible times with them all also. I honestly feel that constant, horrible stress over the years had a lot to do with my health issues, especially the adrenal issues. I loved them so much, though, I would have never thought of giving them up!
I also do not like to leave my cats for more than 2 or 3 days at a time, and I've only done that maybe 3 times over the past 15 years. I am in dire need of a vacation!!! So when my 2 remaining little buddies are no longer with me, I will not be bring more into my home. I can't believe I'm saying that, as I have ALWAYS had at least 1 cat in my life, but this has truly been one of the most exhausting and stressful periods of my life, and I'm just simply tired.
Nellie and Edwin, I am very sorry to hear about Milo. I know how badly that hurts. No matter how many other animals you have, the pain is no less when you lose one. I know this first hand. It sounds like you do have a little zoo at our place, and I'm sure you are plenty busy. I can certainly understand you not wanting to add another pet to the group. Enjoy the ones you have.
