This is an interesting paper on hypercalcaemia, particularly as it suggests cortisol and adrenal function should be routinely tested to rule out all other causes of hypercalcaemia before confirming a diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism.  Would that our medics were so thorough..... if only ....... we're lucky to get them to even acknowledge that hypercalcaemia warrants investigation in the presences of raised PTH!

I found that really enlightening especially reference the FHH scenario.
It all seems a bit hit and miss as to what gets tested and when.  I've not had my D tested yet but it is on the form for my next set of bloods for July along with magnesium.  I suspect my D levels are higher now than they were back in January.

Yes, wouldn't it be nice to have a doctor so interested in determining the causes of our symptoms? Actually, my PA is interested, bless her heart, and she is extremely intelligent. I'm just way too complicated and challenging, I think!
