This site has a good description of DIABETES INSIPIDUS - something I didn't know about.

Anyone passing more than 3 litres of water a day might like to have a look at it.

There is a connection with the pituitary gland, which is the leader of the orchestra of which the parathyroid gland is an instrument player, so to speak - the pituitary being next endocrine level up.
