I think it's low or low normal potassium and phosphates in primary HPT Amanda, but I'm not 100%

Oh dear it's not looking good for me then.
Last 4 readings of potassium and phosphate.
10/2/14
Potassium 4.9 (range3.6-5)
Phosphate 0.95 (range0.81-1.45)
Sodium 142 (range 137-145)
25/3/14
Potassium 4.9
Phosphate 0.93
Sodium 144
12/5/14
Potassium 5
Phosphate 1.02
Sodium143
30/5/14
Potassium 4.9
Phosphate 1.16
sodium 140
Don't know what this indicates but I bet it's not good

Re: In PTH disease is potassium high or low
Right I may have found answer to high potassium levels and it's nothing to do with PTH.
Nexium which is the PPI I take causes low urine calcium and high serum potassium, I've been researching this for hours and about 3-4 sites state this phew !!!!!!

I'm not saying it's good but it means it doesn't rule out PTH

Phew! Thank goodness for that! I've so far resisted taking a PPI for my gastric reflux. I've just been prescribed something for it but I can't remember what my idiot GP said it was and I haven't picked up my prescription from the pharmacy yet, but in any case my reflux is still manageable and one symptom at least that isn't too horrendous!

Don't go on them unless absolutely necessary they are poison. Unfortunately I have no choice.

Re: In PTH disease is potassium high or low
Your potassium looks OK to me, Amanda. Mine is about the same (and I have a 2cm thingy).
Your sodium is at the top of the range, but so is mine.
Phosphates - both blood and urine - are almost always low in HPT. Your blood phosphate level is the same as mine - low in the range. And my urine phosphate level is just below the bottom of the range for it.
So your low phosphate level would argue for HPT, I would think.
Nothing to worry about in those readings - well, if there is I should be worried as well, and I'm worried enough already since the US. No doubt others will chip in here.

I wonder if I've got PTH adenoma plus pituitary adenoma if they can do both as a job lot and throw in a face lift, nose job, chin/s tuck, tummy tuck, knee lift.

Re: In PTH disease is potassium high or low
My potassium and phosphorus were both always normal. Two more reasons I had trouble getting diagnosed.
