New symptom
Hi all,
I have been feeling really tired lately (More than usual!) i have a slight cold and i have neuralgic pain going down the right side of my face and my gland in my neck is sore on the same side, it affects my jaw, cheekbone, and my eye feels sore. I have a tingling sensation all over my body (no rash) and generally feel quite unwell.
I don't think this Parathyroid related unless anyone out there knows different?
Maybe its just a virus jumbled up with Parathyroid symptoms
Hope you are all well

Hi Diana
If you have a cold i would say it sounds viral, face pain can be sinus related.
Hope it doesn't last to long, wishing you better

Hi Nelly,
Thank you, well back to the old fashion remedy's for sinus problems, thought it may be sinus related!
Hope you are recovering well and gradually improve to good health.
Take care

Hi Diana
It does sound like a sinus thing. but with phpt you never know what symptoms it could bring.
Are you due do to have surgery soon? Sometimes I miss a few posts.
Hope you feel better Kathi

Re: New symptom
Hi Kathi,
I am waiting for surgery with FP, he located an abnormality in my chest, fairly quickly after a blood test, CT scan, bone scan.
He seemed confident and is hoping to operate using a lower neck incision and not crack the sternum, he also added that he had to confer with his colleagues and the next time i would see him would be at the operation!
My blood test result was calcium 3.2 PTH 17 i am waiting for a copy of all the results via letter.
How is your parathyroid journey going?
Take care

Re: New symptom
Hi Mel,
Thank you Mel, yes it has always been in the high range, but at the moment it is at its highest and i am slightly worried about it, but i'm on a waiting list like everyone else, it makes you wonder how high does it have to get before it becomes an emergency? ( I don't actually know!)
Take care

Diana Wow your labs are high, hope they get you in soon. I am happy to hear that they won't have to crack the sternum. I worry about that to, very glad to hear that. Drink lots of water. Does FP know how high your labs are? Maybe he can get you to surgery sooner. Best wishes Diana keep us posted. If I calculated right you calcium is 12.8 US numbers and at 13 they will do iv's to lower it. So keep a eye on it. Kathi

Hi Kathi,
Yes FP does know how high my labs are, he is aware of it, so its just a waiting game at the moment.
I hope all is well with you?

My goodness, yes, those are some high levels, Diana! I would think there should be NO waiting for surgery in this case. I hope they get you in as soon as possible!!
