MIBI & US done
First topic message reminder :
I had MIBI & US done yesterday morning. Don't know if MIBI showed anything but radiologist said he couldn't see anything but did ask if I'd had any further neck surgery ?! I asked why but he said oh no reason just asking. He did say it was difficult to find PTH glands anyway without MIBI pointing him in right direction of anything suspicious and it wasn't ready to read at that time !
What I did find out from radiographer doing MIBI was that they don't do PTH surgery at Watford but send their patients to HAMMERSMITH HOSPITAL !!!!!!! Well that explains the comments from FP about Endo.
What it doesn't explain is how two consultants dealing with the same patients can have such opposite views on whether a patient with FHH can have symptoms or not !
I'm presuming MIBI won't show anything as I'm sure US would have shown anything major. So I think my quest will be to find out if FHH does have symptoms and is the high calcium associated with it as destructive as it is with PTH.
I'm not looking forward to the result.
Love Amanda xxxx

Hi Nancy & Jasmine
No Nancy I didn't have any blood taken, they seemed very haphazard with it all this time, first they said you can't have it (after sorting out the ferritin for me and putting canula in) they said it would put haemoglobin too high, then they said it was ok. I said well what about it sending my haemoglobin too high and they said, oh we think it will be ok !!!!! I know they are busy but I would have thought this should have been figured out before I went in, made me rather concerned that it will send it too high and cause more harm than good. I don't feel as tired anymore but I have a bit of a rash on neck which is what I had last time and a sore eye but I think that's from wearing my contacts for too long. So I'm wearing my glasses today and I find them really uncomfortable so I'm hoping it clears up soon.
Jasmine I thought I reccognised the one wearing Doc Martins and not much else hahaha, I was worried if I clicked on it I'd never be able to get out of it and would have to explain to my kids why I was asking for their help to restore my iPad and get rid of a porn site, oh the shame !!!!!
As for getting ready for Christmas, I'm trying, I had Micky Bubble !! on earlier whilst doing the ironing, I got told to shut the door to the utility room or Bat Cave as I call it, as other half didn't like the noise:P it might have been because I was singing along !!!!! Bah humbug to him.
Love and big hugs back,
Amanda xxxx

We are not seeing the porn site.
If anyone is brave enough to copy the web address and can send it to me by PM, I will take this up with Forumotion support.

Re: MIBI & US done
Hi Edwin,
I've switched back from the mobile site to see if the unwanted redirects occur to me when using the full site. I did get sent to a site last week which had something involving the word porn but I shut it down quickly and even quicker the second time when a number of redirects started including one which was 'bongocams' or similar. I'll try and get a bit more info if it happens again.
I suspect it may be an Ipad/Safari thing since that's what I'm using as well. I don't have any problem if I switch to the mobile site. It was the same with the betting apps redirects a while back.
Amanda, hope the iron gives you that boost you need to get through the festive season and that you start getting some intelligent medical practitioners on your case.
Lots of love,
Dee

Re: MIBI & US done
Thanks Dee
I certainly have had my share of unhelpful medics, new year hopefully I'll get a bit more help.
Edwin I'm sorry I didn't stay on the porn site long enough as a title came up saying "do you want a f***" my first thought was "rude"(as in a Miranda way) then I thought quick get rid of it incase it got worse. I will copy the web address if it happens again. It was on iPad safari.

Well, some people have all the luck, Amanda! It's almost as if this porn site knows all the sad symptoms of parathyroid disease!

Geez, I'm gone for several days, and I miss all the fun!! A porn site?!!!
Oh my!
Please accept my apologies for not keeping up with all of your posts. I will try to do better! I'm going nuts here!
Nancy, I asked what your calcium level was with that PTH of 88, you replied by telling me, and I never got back on here to reply to you! I'm sorry. Yes, if your calcium is 10, with a PTH of 88, that is pretty darned high. I'm so sorry for that too. I was really hoping you were cured after your surgery. Darn it!
Amanda, I don't know how you're dealing with all you are! I always feel sorry for myself until I hear about other cases. You are all great inspirations!! Stay strong!! Better days just have to be ahead!
