Parathyroidectomy Surgeons
One thing that was requested when we started this forum was a list of surgeons that have been recommended by forum members.
We deliberately shied-away from producing a list, as we do not have the resources to ensure that it is up-to-date and we did not want to create an impression that specific surgeons are good, bad, or otherwise, especially as individual patients may have different experiences with the same surgeon.
That said, there is no reason why our members should not write about their personal experiences, so please post comments and recommendations in this topic, just remembering to avoid anything that may be construed as reputation damaging or offensive.

Re: Parathyroidectomy Surgeons
I will kick off then and recommend Mr Morgan at Southmead Bristol. He is very approachable and easy to talk to. My surgery was very complicated/difficult, took nearly 4 hours but the op was successful and the aftercare from Mr M and his team was excellent. I cannot be as positive about the hospital, the operating theatres and staff are excellent but once on the ward things are not so good, the lack of care and chaos on the ward was disappointing considering this is a new hospital.

Re: Parathyroidectomy Surgeons
My husband had a parathyroidectomy at the Chaucer Hospital in Canterbury, Kent, on the 5th August. It was carried out by Mr Michael Harron who, I believe, has sinced moved to Northern Ireland to practise. We have nothing but the utmost praise for this very skilful and caring surgeon. He was easy to talk to and was keen to explain the procedure and possible complications without causing unnecessary worry. I am pleased to say that the operation was a complete success and my husband has fully recovered.
Incidently, for those who are interested in finding an experienced parathyroid surgeon, this link is useful:
